Homer B. Walters, age 73, former resident of Plymouth, passed away Friday, Jan. 27, 2006 at the Crestwood Care Center in Shelby. He was born on December 13, 1932 in Lucasville, Ohio to the late Merrill B. and Elizabeth (Justice) Walters and had been a resident of the Shelby / Plymouth areas all of his life. He retired from General Motors in Mansfield after 30 years of service. He owned and operated the Plymouth Flower Shop along with his wife. A Navy Veteran, he was a member of the Plymouth American Legion. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Lucille Walters, whom he married March 20, 1964; three daughters, Susan A. and Dan Kooken of Shelby, Linda and Al Striker of Shelby, and Janet K. Walters and Special friend Barbara Keefer of West Virginia; four grandchildren, Amy and Ryan Masterson, Eric and Keera Kooken, Allison Striker, and Nicholas Noe Walters; two great grandchildren, Ryleah Grace Masterson and Tyler Williams; and one sister, Verna B. Haddix of Lucasville, Ohio. He is preceeded in death by his parents; one sister; and one brother.
Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 to 7:30 P.M. at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, where the funeral service will be Tuesday at 11:00 A.M with Sister Joann Brodman officiating. Burial will be at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assoc or to the American Parkinsons Disease Assoc.
