Homer E. Sands, age 81, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019, at Mercy Willard Hospital. He was born on November 4, 1937, in Willard, to the late Ernest and Evelyn (Holmes) Sands. Homer had worked 42 years at RR Donnelley, and also worked for the Willard Golf Course and Ace Hardware. In his spare time he enjoyed painting and completing jig-saw puzzles. Homer loved the outdoors, especially golfing and hunting and he was an avid sports fan with a love for playing and coaching softball.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Lykins) Sands; daughters, Deb (Dan) Rogers of Willard, Kim Bloir of Mansfield and Kelly (Tim) Coble of Willard; son, Mike (Alicia) Sands of Bowling Green; six grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Charles Sands; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Sands.
Friends may call at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio, on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, where his funeral service will be at 12:00 PM, with Pastor Barton McKelvey officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christian Alliance Church, 1609 S Conwell Ave, Willard, OH 44890.
