Hershel Lewis, age 72, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in the Mercy Willard Hospital. He was born on June 16, 1942 in Morgan County, Kentucky to the late Martin and Veneda (Gullett) Lewis and had been a Willard resident the majority of his life. Mr. Lewis had work with the former Sheller Globe Corporation in Norwalk and was a member of the Willard United Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lillie M. (Perry) Lewis; two daughters, Lisa Hammock and Kim Lewis both of Willard; one step son, Hershel Gene Short of Washington D.C.; two grandchildren, Venessa and Alex Hammock; five siblings, Elden Lewis of Miamisburg, OH; Norma Kennard of Miamisburg, OH; Sue Rogers of Willard; Joan Reed of Willard; and Leon Lewis of Willard.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a step son, James Hall, Jr.; and a brother, Marvin Lewis.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Friday, September 19, 2014 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Willard United Baptist Church with Reverend Danny Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard, Ohio.
