Herman Dyer, age 85, of North Fairfield, Ohio passed away on Monday, January 25, 2021 at his home. He was born on August 8, 1935 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Chester and Berta (Rowe) Dyer.
Herman was a very hard worker all his life and loved the outdoors. He loved spending time with his family and grandsons and gave out butterscotch candy to everyone who visited him. Herman retired from Akron Standard Mold in Greenwich, Ohio where he was a welder for many years.
He is survived by his four children, Karen (Mike) Butler of North Fairfield, Ohio, Phil (Shelly) Dyer of Norwalk, Ohio, Phyllis (George) Schindler of Avon, Ohio and Brenda (John) Corey of Norwalk, Ohio; eight grandsons, Jeremy Dyer of Norwalk, Ohio, Justin Butler of Sandusky, Ohio, Matt Butler of Norwalk, Ohio, John Schindler of Florida, Jeff Dyer of Norwalk, Ohio Michael Cook of Holland, Ohio, Derek Dyer of Clyde, Ohio and Josh Corey of Norwalk, Ohio; four great grandchildren; four siblings, Roberta Montgomery of Delphi, Ohio, Donald (Diane) Dyer of Shelby, Ohio, Janice (Robert) Dick of Willard, Ohio and Gwen (Dave) Kilgore of Greer, South Carolina; special niece, Linda Back; wonderful neighbors, John and Pat Colvin and Chris and Sharla Howard; special friends, Billy and Edna Griffits; and his dogs, Mad Max and Rascal Flatts.
In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Dyer; and sisters, Bureta Clagg and Lavotis Back.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard on Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mike Harroll officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at North Fairfield Cemetery in North Fairfield, Ohio. Online condolences can be left for the family at www.secorfuneralhomes.com.

Herman was my uncle and one of my favorite people. Many fond memories were shared with him and his family. He was always joking around and laughing. Always made me feel good to be with him.
