Grace Bishop, age 91, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at the Avita Hospital in Bucyrus, Ohio. She was born September 8, 1931 in West Lodi, Ohio to the late Albert and Vivian (Dendinger) Slingwine and has been a New Washington resident since 1957. She graduated from Thompson High School and was a member of the St. Bernard's Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society in New Washington, Ohio. She formerly worked at Woolworth's in Tiffin, then at GE in Bellevue for 5 years, before getting married. Grace enjoyed watching birds, her rock/flower bed on the hill, crocheting and most of all, raising her children.

She is survived by four sons, Michael Bishop of New Washington, Kevin (Dori) Bishop of Bloomville, and twins Tom and Tim Bishop both of New Washington; three daughters, Jane (John) Ott of Norwalk, Susan (Rick) Clady of New Washington, and Mary Lou (Jeff) Hamilton of Plymouth; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Sandy) Slingwine of Green Springs; three sisters, Fern (Jim) Kinn of Alvada, Ohio, Ireta Martin of Tiffin, and Mary Jane Covert of Tiffin; sister-in-law Kate Slingwine of Clyde and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceeded in death by her husband Joseph Bishop; her parents Albert and Vivian (Dendinger) Slingwine; brother Richard Slingwine, brothers-in-law Bob Covert and Bill Martin.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington with Fr. Michael Diemer officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington. Memorials may be made to St. Bernard Church or to the donor's choice.
