Gordon D. Horne, age 72, resident of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2010 in Willard Mercy Hospital. He was born on December 18, 1937 in Willard to the late James E. and Rose Marie (Amburgy) Horne and had been a Willard/Plymouth resident his entire life. Mr. Horne was a retired employee from the former Plymouth Locomotive and had served in the US Army in France during peace time. He was a member of the Plymouth American Legion and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed reading, fishing, camping and spending time with his grandchilden.
He is survived by a son, Bud (Angel) Horne of Plymouth; two daughters, Missy (Chris) Collins of Shelby; and Penny (Troy) Keene of Plymouth; nine grandchildren, Kristy, Ariel; and Shadd Collins; Bailey and Haven Keene; Addyson, Avery, Adler and Aryssa Horne; two brothers, James E. Jr. (Joy) Horne of Jacksonville, FL; Edward “Rick” (Kim) Horne of Bardstown, KY; four sisters, Minta Sue (Arthur) Justice of Greenwich; Bette Jo (V.C.) Conley of Utica, OH; Barbara Ann (Terry) Perkins of Willard; Theresa Kaye (Eddie) Perkins of Willard; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special thank you to his nurse/niece Toni Kelley.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary M. (Robinson) Horne on May 9, 2009; two sisters, Diana Joy Bolen and Muriel Lee Viars; and two brothers, Richard Ray Horne and Billy Gene Horne.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Roger Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio. So sorry to hear of your loss. I will always remember Tiny, with a smile on my face. He was a good and funny man.
He spent a lot of time at our house, when we were young.
