Gloria V. Neukam, age 88, of Willard, Ohio, died on Friday, January 6, 2012 at Hillside Acres Nursing Home following a lengthy illness. Gloria was born on April 17, 1923 in North Fairfield, Ohio and was one of six sisters born to Frank and Flora Holmes. At 10 years of age, she moved to Willard and graduated from Willard High School in 1941. She married Charles M. Neukam from Indiana on December 3, 1946. They lived in Havre, Montana, where her husband worked as a brakeman on the Great Northern Railroad and Gloria was a housewife and mother. They resided in Havre for 14 years until her husbands death in 1960. Gloria and her daughter, Carol then moved back to Willard to reside close to other family members who lived in the Willard area. Gloria worked at Pioneer Industrial Sewing Plant on Laurel Street for 22 years and retired in 1986. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church on Howard Street in Willard.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol, also of Willard as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by five sisters, Dorothy Grimm, Marian Bures, Evelyn Fogleson, Thelma Berry and Leona McKinney.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Monday, January 9, 2012 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM with Reverend Doug Beggs officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church. Online condolences can be made at www.secorfuneralhomes.com

Carol, I am sorry to hear about your mom. I’ll always remember when we were 16 and Glo took us to Gem Beach for the week-and what a week it was! She was a great lady. I hope soon that you will just remember all the good times. Fondly, Susie Zdroik

I always enjoyed visiting at your house and talking with your mom, she was one special lady.
