Glenn Allen Gardner, age 76, resident of Willard, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2008 at the Willard Mercy Hospital. He was born on August 1, 1932 in Willard, Ohio to the late Durward and Mildred (Seiple) Gardner and had been a resident of Willard all of his life. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard. He retired from the Willard Post Office after 34 years of service and had worked at the Willard IGA for 13 years, after retirement. He was a Navy Veteran who had a honorable medical discharge. He was active in the Boy Scouts in the 60’s and early 70’s.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Yvonne Eileen Gardner whom he wed on September 27, 1953; one son, Daniel Glenn Gardner of Willard and friend Carol Wright; two daughters, Nancy Jo (Richard) Trimner of Willard and Lori Anne (Rick) Smith of Willard; seven grandchildren, Linda (Clark)Wright of Willard, Zachary (Amanda) Smith of Willard, Geoffrey (Ashley) Trimner of Willard, Jerrod (Denise) Smith of New Mexico, Amy Gardner of Willard, Glenn Daniel (Mary) Gardner of Willard, and Garrett Daniel Gardner of Willard; 6 great granchildren; one brother, Bruce (Shirley) Gardner of New Haven, Indiana; and a uncle, James “Bud” (Wanda) Seiple of Huron, Ohio.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Durward and Mildred (Seiple) Gardner; brother, Durward Wayne Gardner and a sister, Gretchen Hock.
A graveside service will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio on Tuesday, November, 11, 2008 at 2:30 P.M. with Rev.Brian Peltomaa officiating. Memorial expressions may be made to the Willard Mercy Hospital or to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Willard. The Secor Funeral Home in Willard assisted the family with arrangements. Mrs. Gardner and family, I Just found out of your loss and wanted to send my sympathy and prayers. Your husband and father was the best postal worker ever. He was always smiling and went out of his way. He will be greatly missed. I have had a lot of loss , but remember all those good memories ,it helps. sorry I am so late with this being in Nevada I am behind things but try to keep up.
