George L. Roth, age 87, resident of Willard, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Pristine Senior Living in Willard. He was born on April 3, 1930 in Thompson Twp., Seneca County, Ohio to the late Otto and Anna (Herman) Roth. Mr. Roth had attended the Attica High School and later served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He had worked at the former Shelby Depot, the former Miami Systems in Shelby and retired from Carton Services in Shelby in 1995. He was a member and volunteer at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Shelby, and later a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard. George was also a member of the Moose Lodge, and a volunteer girls softball coach.
He is survived by his wife, Louise I. (Kehres) Roth who he married on September 1, 1956; three children, Julie (Chris) Chaney of Cincinnati, Sara (Sean) Sifferlin of Charlotte, NC, and Gregory Roth of Columbus; five grandchildren, Katie Wilson of Cincinnati, Maggie Chini of Winfield, KS, Stephanie Chaney of Cincinnati, Alec and Drake Sifferlin of Charlotte, NC; two great grandchildren, Max Chini and Harper Wilson; one brother, Albert Roth of Iowa; and one sister, Delores Miller of Attica.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard, Ohio on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM with Father George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions can be made to the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church or the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
