On Sunday, August 29, 2021 Gary L. Dye passed away peacefully in his sleep at home following a long battle with polycystic kidney disease. Gary was born on May 27, 1971 to Merlin and Judith Dye.
Some of his greatest joys in life were morel hunting in the woods and fishing. He took tremendous pride and enjoyment in being a father and grandpa to his two grandchildren, Wyatt Lee and Weston Joseph Dye. He enjoyed tinkering in the garage and spending time outdoors with friends. An avid drummer and musician, Gary was a fan of classic rock and enjoyed jamming out with anyone who was willing.
Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kelly and Alma Dye of McDowell, Kentucky, Ruth Moomaw and Richard Nathanial Smith; and nephew, Nathan Rowe.
He is survived by his parents, Merlin and Judith Dye of Tiro; sisters, Debra (Hershel) Rowe of Shelby, Sandy Hale of Plymouth, Sharon (Freddy) Rowe of Willard and Linda (Brian) Kuczynski of Richfield; and brother, Kelly (Beth) Dye of Van Wert. Gary is also survived by his two children, daughter, Eryn Dye of Lorain and son, Timothy (Shawna) Dye of Shelby; grandchildren, Wyatt and Weston Dye of Shelby; and a large number of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Thursday, September 2, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of his funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Gary's brother-in-law, Pastor Fred Rowe officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family, in care of his son, Timothy.
