My Petey girl was a beautiful person from the time she was a child, always a smile on her beautiful face, she had a tough love personality but a mixture of reaching out to her friends in a loving “Petey” way. She had diabetes from a young age and we bunked at Mohican Outdoor School for a week, one night with flashlight and sitting on her bed late, she opened her suitcase and nestled in her clothes was a good supply of candy. She shared and we giggled and sugar highed together, we got caught by counselor though. Her supply was kept in office until we climbed that bus later that week. Even though we both were homesick we had each other. Through the years we stayed buddies and then marriage happened for me before her and lost track, even though she lived in Willard and I went with husband to military life in Louisiana. When I came back I would meet her now and then and hugs made us breath deeply and deeply smile. She had inner strength to fight diabetes, I am a emotional person and when I was told by my daughter my Petey left this earth last week, I geared up, you see she was special and I was blessed to call her a dear friend. We enjoyed each other and she has left the earth way too early. Love you my friend, till we meet again.
