Ella Christine Howell, age 86, of Plymouth, Ohio went to be with her Lord on January 10, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family after a lengthy illness.  She was born on March 10, 1935 in Eastern Kentucky to the late William and Elsie (Horn) Oney.  Ella was an ordained minister and filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues, as the Spirit gave her utterance.  She was a very hard worker and was very strong willed.  She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and her church family.  Christine was very thoughtful and giving and she made everyone feel as if they were the most important.  Among her many talents and skills, she was an interior decorator, seamstress, an avid gardener.  She also wasn’t afraid to learn new skills, like learning the piano at 70 years old.  She loved sitting on her porch swing looking at her roses.  Her and her husband always enjoyed preparing large meals for their family and loved ones.  She also loved to spend time teaching her grandchildren to sing and play the piano.

Left to cherish Christine’s memories are her husband, Pastor Birbage “Bill” Howell, Jr. whom she married on February 17, 1990; children, Debora (Terry) Roberts of Castalia, OH; James William Burkhalter (Twila Vassel) of Mansfield, OH; Pamela (Willie) Hazlett of Mansfield, OH; Jeffrey (Theresa) Burkhalter of Caryville, TN; Elizabeth James of Shiloh, OH; Jennifer (Dwayne) Sexton of Ontario, OH; step daughter, Karen (Jon) Dickinson of Plymouth, OH; 19 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special daughter-in-law, Angela Gail Smith and special friend, Nancy McClure.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Gary Lee Burkhalter; granddaughter, Amber James; great granddaughter, Alyssa Laser; step children, David Howell and Tracy Howell; and siblings, Sam Oney, Robert Oney, Lula Breedlove, Marie Gibson, Mary Blum, Opel Mae Gamet, Virgil Oney, Omie Oney and Melvin Oney.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 13, 2022 from 12:00 Noon until 7:00 PM at Messiah’s House of Prayer on Pettit Street in Shiloh, OH.  Visitation will continue on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of her service at 11:00 AM at Messiah’s House of Prayer with Pastor Johnathon Laser and Pastor Austin Gearheart.  Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, OH.  Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah’s House of Prayer in Shiloh.  Online condolences may be made to Christine’s family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com
