A celebration of life gathering for Douglas “Doug” E. McQuate, 78, of Plymouth, Ohio, will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1 at Mary Fate Park in Plymouth.
Doug passed away Jan. 31, 2021, at his home. His ashes will be interred in the family plot at Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth during a private ceremony, which will include military honors to recognize Doug’s 20 years of service to his country as a U.S. Marine.
Please join the families of Doug’s children, Mike and Micki, friends and neighbors at the park’s south pavilion/scout hut for an informal gathering to honor and remember Doug, and to share your favorite stories about him. Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP by email to [email protected] or text 614-886-1144 by April 25.
In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the family requests that a donation be made in Doug’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

I'm sorry for your loss. I remember Doug when I was a kid growing up with my Grandma Fern. Thank you for your service Doug.

We got to stay with Doug back in 2000 on a US holiday; 2 Aussies and a kiwi. We had gotten to know Doug (MAC 3) through a chat room called 40s retreat. Doug introduced us to his home, to Plymouth, to Micki, and to his friends, most of whom he had known and loved since kindergarten. We had our first cook out under the stars, had a corn dog at the Ashland fair, Janice rode on the back of his bike, had coffeemate in our coffee 😫, and enjoyed every second. We have kept in touch with Doug all these years and kept up with the growth of his family. Ohhhh how he loved his family! ❤️ When Doug told me of his prognosis, he did so with candour and humour. Poop! He said.... You are a good man Doug, we will miss you. Rest In Peace. Condolences to your beautiful family and to your friends. Ruth, Janice and Helen 😀

I haven't seen Doug for the last several years. While we were growing up we were great friends. Doug was always up for something and was a bit mischievous. I have a lot of great memories of our young life in Plymouth. He was quite a force and sure to be missed. Semper Phi Marine

Had the priviledge of knowing Doug while stationed in Hawaii. Fine Marine and gentleman. Would like to extend my sincere condolences to his family. May his memory be Eternal.
