Dorylen W. Van Wagner, age 91, longtime resident of Plymouth, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2022 at the Willows at Willard in Willard, Ohio. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on April 13, 1931.

Dorylen, known as Dory, had been a very active member of the Plymouth American Legion Auxiliary, Plymouth Volunteer Fire Ladies and the original and current Plymouth Ox Roast by the American Legion. She enjoyed going to her son’s football, basketball and sports events. Family was very dear to her. Nothing delighted her more than being visited by her children and grandchildren. Friends known as the “Gang” also played a big part in her life, creating many memories together. She loved helping people and all of her children’s friends knew the door was always open. She is called mom by many and will be missed by all.

Dorylen is survived by her children, Richard F. (Debbie) Van Wagner and Barbara K. (Chris) Wilcox; three grandchildren, Richard Van Wagner II, Yvonne Brown and Stacey (Arick) Burkepile; six great grandchildren, Cadence L. Burkepile, Walker B.L. Burkepile, Wayne Van Wagner, Forrest Van Wagner, Holden R. Wilcox and Bobbie Sue Carter; two sisters, Bertha Parton and Claira Mae (Fred) Parton; and one sister-in-law, Deloris Kurtz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Van Wagner on January 26, 1993; her mother, Wilma M. Kurtz; brother, Thomas E. Kurtz; brother-in-law, Thomas D. Partin; son, William L. Van Wagner II; grandson, Andrew R. Wilcox; and great grandson, Landan X. Burkepile.

Family and friends are invited to the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Peterson officiating. Dutch & Barb and families, So many great memories with our Plymouth family! What a joyful meeting she had arriving in heaven! It's hard to be too sad knowing her eyes are sparkly again, and she's with so much of our family that has went ahead of us! I am selfishly sad for those of us left behind. She will definitely be missed. Hold onto those very special memories in the difficult days ahead. I will always remember Dory's sweet smile and the fun times we all shared... Until we are all together again, may God Bless each of you, Love Cindy & Family
