Donald E. King, age 80, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at his son's home in Willard following a short illness. He was born on March 26, 1938 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Harry and Katherine (Dortch) King and graduated from high school in Vanceburg, Kentucky. Don enlisted in the US Navy in 1956 and retired in 1981 after serving his country for 25 years. While in the Navy, he served in a constuction battalion (Seabees) as an electrician and later worked for Willard Mercy Hospital and retired from the former TecForms in Shelby.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Luella (Cannaday) King; a daughter, Kimberly (Ron) Stephens of Plymouth; a son, Michael (Sissy) King of Willard; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and two more expected in December.
In addtion to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Ryan King in 1994; two brothers, and one sister.
A graveside service will be held at the Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM with military honors presented by the US Navy Honor Guard. Online condolences can be made at www.secorfuneralhomes.com
