Dick Teal Myers, age 87, lifelong resident of Willard, Ohio went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at The Willows at Willard. Born February 11, 1926 in Centerton, Ohio to the late Frank and Irene (Teal) Myers, Dick graduated from Willard High School in 1943 then served two years in the US Navy during WWII. He attended Central Bible College and later earned an Electrical Engineering degree. Dick was employed with PPG in Crestline, Ohio for 25 years and retired at the age of 57. He developed a family business, Kadic Controls, Inc. and provided employment for numerous family members and friends. Dick was an active member of the Willard Christian Alliance Church, The Gideons International and the Huron County Jail Ministry.
He is survived by one son, Dr. Marcus (Ilene) Myers of Stow, Ohio; and two daughters, Susan (Clifford) Smith of Willard; and Rebecca (Craig) Shafer of Bermuda Dunes, California; eight grandchildren, Renee, Ryan, Ross, Nathan, Noah, Riley, Mahalah and Clay; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Daniel (Mary) Myers of Stow, Ohio; two sisters, Esther Hampton of Newark, Ohio; and Ruth (Larry) Swander of North Fairfield, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kay (Willmoth) Myers in 2011; and his brother, Merrill Myers in 1952.
Friends may call at the Christian Alliance Church in Willard, Ohio on Sunday, August 11, 2013 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. where a memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Trainer officiating. Private burial will be held in Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made to The Gideons International. We were so sorry to hear of Dick’s passing. We loved and appreciated both of your parents. We learned so much from them! How exciting for Him to now be at home with Jesus, who he faithfully served and with Kay. We are sorry we could not attend the funeral due to our work. You are in our thoughts and prayers! My sympathies in the passing of your father. My parents, Ralph and Thelma Swander belonged to the Gideons with your parents. They were wondeful people. I’m sure they are having a glorious reunion all together in Heaven. I pray the Lord comforts you in your grief.
