David Duane Osborne, age 61, resident of Greenwich, Ohio, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in McDowell, Kentucky, on February 14, 1959, to the late John M. "Blackie" and La Verne (Wright) Osborne.
David had worked, in the maintenance department, at CVG/Mayflower Vehicle Systems in Norwalk. A Journeyman Electrician, he never shied away from hard work to improve his family's lives. He also was employed for many years at Country Star Agriculture Service and several years working with Ask Me Paving. He was a member of the NRA, Huron River Coon Hunters Club, and the UAW for many years. A man of many hobbies, bear hunting, fishing, and more recently, building connections with the people in the local agricultural community. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved training his dogs and hunting with them. A quiet family man with a big heart, he enjoyed watching his two sons play football, and was happiest when surrounded by his loving wife, two sons, or his beloved granddaughter. He spent many hours with Eliza, whenever possible, flying paper airplanes and racing Matchbox cars.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Teresa (Hopkins) Osborne, whom he married, on March 24, 1979; two sons, Andrew David (Kelly Sweeting) Osborne of Greenwich, John Tyler Osborne of Alexandria, Virginia; and his granddaughter, Eliza Osborne. He loved his "Pretty Girl". Two sisters, Deborah (Hank) Robinson of Shiloh, Ohio, Rebecca Osborne of Willard, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Belinda (Dave) Moore of Oak Island, North Carolina, and a brother-in-law, Mike Hopkins of Greenwich, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Leman and Evelyn Hopkins; three brother-in-law's, Jesse and Jim Hopkins and John Fox; and many aunts, uncles, nephew and cousins. They are all together again celebrating and watching over their loved ones.
Family and friends may gather at the Secor Funeral Home, 202 West Maple Street, Willard, on Friday, September 25, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Willard Church of God, 4551 Willard West Road, with Bishop Greg Griffith officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Shiloh. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Huron River Coon Hunters Club or Willard Church of God Blessing Basket (church ministry food bank).
