David A. Simpson, age 76, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on March 17, 2024 at Embassy of Willard nursing home of kidney failure. He was born on February 4, 1948, in Willard to the late Homer and Beverly (Schmidt) Simpson. Dave proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1971 and was stationed on the USS Columbus. He was a member of Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Shiloh, Ohio. He was an avid Stamp and Cover collector and an active member of the Willard American Legion where he was a Past Commander, Dave was also the Past Commander of the 5th District.
He is survived by his wife, Sara “Kris” (Kranz) Simpson, whom he married on December 23, 1977; children, Brandi (Brian) Brotzki of Bay View, Ohio, and Paul (Stephanie) Simpson of Willard, Ohio; grandchildren, Lisa Mateo, Olivia “Livy” Cunningham, and Austin Cunningham of Ashland; siblings, Dennis (Joan) Simpson, Willard, and Douglas (Felicia) Simpson, Huber Heights, Oh. Brother in laws Tom Kranz, Shiloh, Ed (Barb) Kranz, Springfield Oh, and sister-in-law Beth (Dave) Osher, Bellevue. Many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Donald Simpson.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio, on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 5:00 – 8:00. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Mt. Hope Lutheran Church in Shiloh, Ohio from 10:00 AM until the time of his service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeremy Lambert officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Shiloh.
