Clyde W. Lykins, 80, of Toledo, OH / formally Willard, OH, died Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Darlington House filled with sunshine, smiles, and family. Born February 4, 1923, Clyde was a devoted family man, who loved golf, driving, playing cards at VFW #606 and his 2 cats. A US Army veteran of WWII, Clyde served in Burma, China and S. Africa. He worked diligently with Enterprise Cars, was as a “Million-Mile” truck driver for Spector Freight, a Brakeman for B&O Railroad, and CCC Montana. Clyde is preceded in death by wife Cathelene and son Paul Dennis. Surviving are children Clyde, Christina (David) Kaczmarek, Craig, Curtis (Patty), Carey, and Cathy Finn, and sisters Geneva (Jewel) Adams, Georgia (Karl) Link, and Mary Foreman. Clyde’s memory will live on with his ten grandchildren, and Tom and Barb McKenzie (niece).
Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard. Graveside Services will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Willard, at 1:00pm on January 13. A lover of endless highways, Clyde’s final “run” will be into God’s awaiting rest stop. He will be forever missed.
