Christine Niedermeier, age 84, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on May 9, 1933 in Castlewood, Virginia to the late John C. and Sallie Ann (Sexton) Lucas. Christine worked as a homemaker and generously volunteered her time as a catechism teacher at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was a member of the Rosary Altar Society and part of the church choir at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard. Christine was also a volunteer Eucharistic minister for St. Francis. She had enjoyed reading, gardening, playing cards, but most of all, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Christine is survived by her son, Joseph E. (Tanya) Niedermeier of Willard; daughter, Pam M. Niedermeier of Willard; 8 grandchildren, Taran (Richard) Mitchell Jr., Shaun, Emily, Joshua, Chelsea (Jarrett) Roesch, Bree, Kaitley (Randy) West, Brayden; 5 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mavis Wallace of Alabama.
In addition to her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Russell J. Niedermeier; 2 brothers, Paul and Carl Lucas; and 2 sisters, Charlotte Smith and Drusilla "Peachy" Hale.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Father George Mahas officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Willard or the St. Francis Xavier Catholic School.
