Charlotte Patterson, age 3, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024.  She was born on October 17, 2020 in Cleveland, Ohio to Miranda Shepherd and Ethan Patterson.

Charlotte was the sweetest, most loving and kind person, she brought joy to everyone around her. She was so smart, strong, capable, brave, confident, and loved. Those were our nightly affirmations, but she really was all of those things. She loved cats, she loved to dance and sing, she truly was a bright light in this world. Anyone that knows her, has had such a deep love and connection with her.

She was pure beauty to this earth and now heaven has a beautiful angel that will watch over all of us. Her time here with us will be treasured and her memory will live with us forever.

She is survived by her mother, Miranda Shepherd of North Fairfield; grandparents, David (Maria) Shepherd of Willard, Ohio and Pamela (Ashwin) Rachord of North Fairfield, Ohio; and uncles, Jacob and Michael Shepherd of North Fairfield, Ohio.

Charlotte is preceded in death by her great grandparents, Jerry and Charlotte Dwight, and Margorie and Orbie Shepherd.

Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 12:00 PM until the time of her funeral service at 2:00 PM with Pastor Greg Griffith officiating.  Online condolences may be made to Charlotte’s family by visiting www.secorfuneralhomes.com

A bright little light, extinguished far too soon. At just three, she touched the lives of everyone around her with a maturity and spirit that belied her age. The most vivid image I have of her is that she skipped instead of walked. It was as though she knew life was precious and was determined to dance through it, never missing a beat. Her curiosity was boundless, as if she were wise beyond her years. She often surprised us with the depth and perception of her responses to questions. She was also my fiercest competition for her grandmother's attention and affection. I didn't stand a chance. Yet, there was no rivalry in reality, because how could anyone not love her? She radiated warmth, and her mere presence was enough to make the world seem brighter. Let me always remember her as a bright little light.

Charlotte will forever hold a special place in my heart. Her smile was infectious and she brought so much joy to our classroom. She went to my daycare and I had the privilege of taking care of her. She is a beautiful little lady inside and out. My heart breaks for her family, my deepest condolences.
