I didn't know this lady personally but if children are a reflection of their parents then she must have been a great lady because Lee Ann nd Danny are both decent stand up people. I am sincerely sorry for the loss

Your mother was mean. At a dentist, telling me she never saw teeth as bad as mine! And she kept saying it !
Chris Routh - Nov 2, 2023
I met Carolyn because I was a dental hygienist and worked in an office next to the one she worked at. She and I shared a common faith and had an instant connection. We were both on fire for our Lord and His gospel. She is a treasure and I know she is enjoying the reward of her beloved Lord. I pray that you all would come to know Jesus Christ like she did! May you all feel His peace and Perhaps a glimpse of the joy she is experiencing now.

Carolyn's loss is a sad for time for the family and the Willard community. She worked tirelessly to improve our town and to keep its history alive. I knew her through the WAHS and was inspired by the way she shared her knowledge about Willard's past and its people. When I last saw her, she helped me with a story about Joe Dush and encouraged me to join her bible study group. Yes, we did talk about our trust in God. She had a Christian faith and knew where she was going. Carolyn was a gracious, kind and progressive woman. I will miss her presence. Prayers for the family and friends of Carolyn.

With thoughts of sympathy for the family, and in memory of Carolyn - a hymn by Fanny Crosby that proclaims Carolyn's faith in our Lord and Savior: "My Savior First of All" When my life-work is ended and I cross the swelling tide, When the bright and glorious morning I shall see; I shall know my Redeemer when I reach the other side, And His smile will be the first to welcome me. I shall know Him, I shall know Him, And redeemed by His side I shall stand; I shall know Him, I shall know Him By the prints of the nails in His hand.

Lee Ann and Danny, Your mom kept “service to others” alive in Willard through Girl Scouts. Also, Willard’s history. My mom and Carolyn were lifelong friends. I loved to hear about their history! I still think about David and Norm, remembering them fondly. Hold fast to your memories. Take time to heal. Sending prayers and hugs your way. Love, Kim

My sympathy to the family and many friends of Carolyn. Carolyn had such great organizational skills dedicating so much time and energy to the benefit of her community. Many events happened because of her tireless energy. Two of her biggest efforts were fund raising for the new library in the 60's and the Sesqui-centennial of the 70's. Rest in Peace Carolyn and thank you for making Willard that special place for the residents. Your community pride has left its mark.

Well, I have lost more than my aunt, as Carolyn was like my "big sister". Oh I loved to call her up & we would chat endlessly- I mean HOURS on the phone. From family matters, to politics, to silly stuff, to religion. She & I had wonderful "discussions" about them all. Oh we did NOT agree on many topics, but we still had great fun/ She would get fits of giggles & we would laugh. Even towards the end, I still told her jokes and she chuckled. My fondest memories of her are when I was a little girl & would spend summers in Willard, and she & Uncle Norm would make home made ice cream. then go see the fireworks, then come back & we would sit out on the swing. In later years we got the genealogy bug! Learning about the family history was so nifty! I used to love it when she would pop into my grandma's house(her mom) and she would alwys yell out- "you hoo". I got a kick out of that. And she always said "pop" for sodas and the way she said "roof" - well I would certainly always say no, you say it like this. Carolyn has been my role model for how to handle things when they are horribly thrown at you. She kept going. Her faith kept her strong. And positive. The things she went thru would have certainly knocked down most people. Not her. Truly inspiring! We shared so many wonderful times. Gosh but she was loved by THRONGS of people She was involved in everything and always remained busy. I know she comes from a strong line of female matriarchs, and now we add her name to this list. Oh, I am just so saddened she is gone. But happy she can reunite with Norm & her mom & David, and my mom-her sister. I hope you are playing the biggest & loudest pipe organ up there and taking your joy up there! I am so happy I did get to call you last night. And even though you could not speak, they put the phone up to your ear so I could tell you one more time, I love you. Love, Connie
