Benedict "Ben" Karl, age 74, of Tiro, Ohio, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022 at OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 18, 1948 at home in Tiro, Ohio to the late Sylvester and Edith (Daniel) Karl. Ben worked at Herald Printing as a press operator, had been a lifelong farmer and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in New Washington and he loved spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Rhonda (Tony) Larizza of Vermilion, Ohio; Stacy (Mark) Durnwald of New Washington, Ohio; and Dana (Chad) Jeffery of Mansfield, Ohio; 8 grandchildren, Haley Larizza, Aiden Larizza, Phoebe Durnwald, Keegan Durnwald, Aariona Jeffery, Ethan Browning, Jayce Jeffery and Paxton Jeffery; and a sister, Alice Karl.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Wechter and a brother, Thomas Karl.
Visitation will be at Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio on Sunday, October 23, 2022 from 12:00 Noon until the time of his service at 3:00 PM with Fr. Mike Diemer officiating.
