Barton "Butch" L. Owens, age 84 of Willard, Ohio, passed away peacefully, Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Willows at Willard, following a brief illness. He was born October 16, 1939 in Willard, Ohio to the late Rodney F. and Dorothy J. (Durbin) Owens. He retired from R R Donnelley's in Willard after 43 years of service and was a Willard Elks member. Butch was an Ohio State, Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns fan. He also followed his grandchildren's sports and was an Avon, Ohio, Eagles sports fan.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Louise (Lux) Owens, whom he married January 25, 1964; son, Brent "Birdie" (Mary) Owens and daughter, ReNea (Darrah Metz) Owens; 3 grandchildren, Emma, Abby and Hugh; grandpuppies, Radar, Mattis and Waffles; Brother, Rodney C. (Diane) Owens and sister, Vicki K. (Dennis) Keefer; also several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Rodney and Dorothy Owens.
Butch's calling hours will be Thursday, January 18, 2024 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio where the funeral service will be Thursday at 7:00 PM with Deacon Mike Wasiniak officiating. Burial will be at a later date. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, January 20, 2024 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Willard Elks. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office Therapy K-9 Program, Buckeye Paws Therapy Dog Program or Southern Care Hospice.
