Allen Williams, age 84, resident of Shelby, Ohio passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 27, 1932 in Floyd County, Kentucky to the late Silas and Cassie (Moore) Williams. Mr. Williams was a retired employee from the former General Motor Company in Ontario, Ohio. He had attended the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church in Plymouth, Ohio and enjoyed fishing, playing ball, and watching the University of Kentucky Wildcats Basketball and the Cleveland Indians. He enjoyed most of all spending time with his family.
He is survived by his son, Mike (Vonda) Williams of Shelby; four grandchildren, Ryan and Chris Williams, and Sammy and Christy Sides; three great grandchildren, Ezra, Aleigha and Zoey; three brothers, Delmer Williams of Allen, KY, Amos Williams of Newark, OH, and Howard (Irene) Williams of New London, OH; two sisters, Juanita Deppen of New London, OH, and, Vernedith Ratlif of Allen, KY; three sisters-in-law, Mae Williams of New London, Sally Williams of Shelby, and Eva Jean Coburn of Shelby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Orena (Ousley) Williams on January 13, 2003; and five brothers, Dennis, Rufford, Ballard, Stallard, and Dingus “Shorty” Williams.
Visitation will be held at the Little Rebecca Old Regular Baptist Church, 4982 Henry Road, Plymouth, Ohio 44865 on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM where church services will be held at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the church on Friday at 11:00 AM with the church elders officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio.
