Alice M.Young, 85, of Tiro, Ohio, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2011, at her residence surrounded by her family and following a one-year battle with cancer. She was born on January 8, 1926, in Tiro, Ohio, to the late Joseph and Alma (Foos) Millenbaugh. She was a member of the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church and a life-long member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was a homemaker and devoted mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Alice is survived by her husband, Norbert Young; her six children, Michael Young and fiance Beth Teynor of Bucyrus, Tom (Penny) Young of Tiro, Gary Young of New Washington, James (Roxann) Young of New Washington, Marlene (Rob) Keiser of Shelby, and Paul (Katrina) Young of Powell; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lillian Strohm of New Washington and Connie Kemp of Florida; three brothers, Joe Millenbaugh of Grove City, Francis Millenbaugh of New Washington and Larry Millenbaugh of New Washington; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is proceeded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert Millenbaugh.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio, on Wednesday, June 22, 2011, from 5:00-8:30 PM. The funeral mass will be held on Thursday, June 23, at 10:30 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, with Father James Steinle officiating. Burial will be at the Mother of Sorrows Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice of Sandusky, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of Mrs. Alice Young and the loss of a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was truly a beautiful, thoughtful, person and I know she will be deeply missed. For many years, she and Norb steadfastly brought communion to Mom, Mrs. Dolores Studer. This was appreciated by Mom and by all of us on her behalf. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
