He was born on November 13, 1935 in North Auburn, Ohio to the late Joseph and Gertrude (Wechter) Young. When as a little boy riding his bicycle up and down Young road, he didn't know what life had in store for him. But he did it his way. He told his parents, in the middle of his Junior year in High School that he was joining the Army.

In 1969, Bob left his stable job, a brand new home that he labored on for 2 years working beside his father-in-law Fred Hosang, and moved his family of 7 to Davenport, Iowa to pursue his dream career of a becoming a chiropractor at Palmer College of Chiropractic. An eventful and challenging time. But he was not afraid to take a different path in life. He worked on the weekends as a jailor at the Scott County Sheriff Department as a student. He always felt it was important to support the profession by being an active member of its associations. He was a proud member of the Ohio State Chiropractic Association and the Mid-Ohio Chiropractic Association. He served on various committees but was most proud of the committee he served that enabled Ohio chiropractors to have their own State Licensing Board. He served on the National Board of Chiropractor Examiners into his retirement for over 20 years. Bob was proud of his profession and the ability to help so many others. He influenced many students to become Chiropractors. He was a Life Member of the Crawford County Humane Society from where he adopted many of his beloved pets. He was also a dedicated volunteer doing various jobs, including mowing and Wednesday night bingo.

He was a person of many interests. He loved to travel. The annual family week vacation at Hilton Head Island was something the whole family looked forward to.
