William R. Stickney, age 86, resident of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Blossom Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born on September 15, 1932, in Shelby, Ohio to the late Carmen and Zola (Stiner) Stickney. He proudly served in the U.S. Marines. William later worked as a union leader for Quanex in Shelby. He was a member of the American Legion, Moose Lodge, VFW, Amvets, and Willard United Baptist Church. William was a jokester; he enjoyed telling stories, fishing, camping, and going on cruises. William loved his family and he never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Bolen) Stickney; 2 daughters, Shawanna (Donnie) Lawrence of Willard, Tonya (David) Bishop of Shelby; 2 sons; 6 grandchildren, Billy Lawrence, Dakota Lawrence, Hunter, Mallory, Garrett, Gavin Bishop; 2 great grandchildren, Kenzlee Lawrence, Caleb Lawrence; sister, Joy Monn of Shelby; his beloved fur companion, Peanut; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Stickney.

Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Funeral services for William will be Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Willard United Baptist Church at 11:00 AM with Pastor Danny Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery where military rites will be recited. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
