Clinton W. Nye, age 86, resident of McConnell Road, Tiro, OH, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2004. He was born on January 30, 1918 in Crawford Co. to the late Willis and Laura (Long) Nye and lived all his life on the family farm. He farmed for many years and also worked as a welder at Perfection Body in Galion. He was a member of Tiro United Methodist Church. He was a much loved husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Andrews Nye; four sons, Larry Nye and Becky of Bucyrus, OH, Herbert and Nita Nye of Panama City Beach, FL, James and Dottie Nye of Cary, NC, and Robert and Janet Nye of Willard, OH;one daughter, Susan (Wayne) Pugh of Tiro, OH; five grandchildren, Wendy Pugh of Columbus, Tony Pugh of Urbana, OH, Michael Nye of Raleigh, NC, Katie Nye of Raleigh, NC, and Laura Nye of Panama City Beach, FL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Laura (Long) Nye; two brothers, William Harold and Forrest Nye; and one sister, Helen Starrett.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington on Friday from 5-8 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, with Rev. Andrew Angel officiating. Burial will follow at the Union Cemetery in Sulphur Springs, OH. Memorials may be made to Tiro United Methodist Church.
