Marion Davis, age 66, of Willard, Ohio passed away surrounded by family on December 23, 2024 after an ending battle with cancer. He was born on February 23, 1958 in South Carolina to the late Joseph H. Davis and Carrie L. Davis. Marion graduated from Johnsonville High School in 1971 and was a US Army veteran, serving in Germany.
Always a philanthropist, Marion found joy in helping others, especially the community youth. He was a founding member of Willard Upward Basketball and Cheerleading, coached T-ball while being a member of the Willard Little League and coached several of his daughter's youth basketball teams. Additionally, he was a referee for Jr. High and High School basketball for 25 years and officiated volleyball for 7 years. Working at MTD for over 30 years, he took great pride in his career and assisted his fellow co-workers with the Needy Kids program. He was always a friendly face to many at MTD and cherished those he was able to mentor and work with. To know Marion was to love him.
An avid sports fan, Marion put Ohio State football and North Carolina basketball at the top of his watchlist along with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers.
Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband of 33 years and a caring father who always put his wife and daughter first. He loved going on vacation to Myrtle Beach and especially St. Augustine to take in the spectacular light display during his favorite season of Christmas. Anyone who knew Marion always knew his love for his family.
Marion is survived by his wife Jodi (Krabill) Davis and daughter Tanesha Davis, brother Harry Joe (Delcen) Davis; eight sisters, Hattie Green, Alethia Davis, Corrine Nelson, Eunice Davis, Theresa (Bruce) Wilson Emma Nesmith, Florine Haynes, all of SC.; and Shirley (Irvin) McIntosh of DE; brother-in-law William (Jamie) Krabill and sister-in-law Candace Reed, all of OH; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Marion is preceded in death by his parents Joe and Carrie Davis; father and mother-in-law William Sr. and Suzanne Krabill; brothers George E. Davis and Willie L. Davis; sisters Pretell D. Nesmith and Lorine Davis.
