David Lee Bishop, age 66, of Bucyrus, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Marion General Hospital. He was born on May 19, 1958 in Willard, Ohio to the late Carl and Geraldine (Willman) Bishop.

Dave retired from National Machinery after 30+ years. After retirement, he was found doing home projects and fixing anything that was broke, usually from his own doing. Dave was an avid fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoyed a game of euchre, cornhole and a day on the golf course. He will be deeply missed in the kitchen, especially early in the mornings making breakfast for family while banging all the pots and pans around.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angela (Pliego) Bishop who he married on September 10, 1988; children, Brittany (Kyle) Bishop, Brendan (Reagan) Bishop and Brooke Bishop; grandchildren, Cambria, Cameron, Liana, Atreyu, Ronan and a granddaughter on the way; siblings, Doug (Kay) Bishop, Terry (Kathy) Bishop, Jim (Dori) Bishop, Frank (Sharon) Bishop and Linda Lutz; 8 step siblings; brother-in-law, Lance (Nicole) Pliego; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his step- mother, Dorothy Bishop; sister, Sharon Bishop; brother-in-law, Robert Lutz, mother and father-in-law, Ralph and Lillian Pliego.

Calling hours will be on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, Ohio from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Dave’s funeral will be on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Bernard Catholic church in New Washington, Ohio with Deacon Bruce Alge officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery in New Washington, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Autismspeaks.org or The James for Pancreatic Cancer Research. He was my son's boy scout leader. We really liked him! My son was a real introvert but he loved doing the things with the boy scouts with Dave. Years later, I work at Kroger and Dave would come in to shop. One time he asked me if I could have him thrown out of the store so he wouldn't have to come back to shop for his wife! LOL I knew he was joking because that is who he is! Prayers to his family! He was a good man!

What a great guy and friend. I hung around with Dave at St. Bernard's and Buckeye Central. The best memory I have of Dave was driving with Jsnie and John Blum to Connecticut for his wedding. We all had a Roman Toga party in the hotel after the wedding. Great guy. God bless his family.
