Betty Jean Steele, resident of Shiloh, Ohio passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2024 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on September 7, 1943 in New London, Ohio to the late Earl and Margaret (Davidson) Shick.

A woman of great faith, Betty was a member of Olivesburg Methodist Church. Once her children were grown, she enjoyed baking and decorating cakes. She loved to play bingo, shopping, gardening and doing puzzles. Most of all, she cherished time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, whether it was in the kitchen baking or showing them how to find the perfect 4-leaf clover.
Betty is survived by her children, Penny Prater of Shiloh, Dan Steele (Darrell Morgan) of Columbus, and Alan (Deanne) Steele of LaGrange; grandchildren, Amber (Tommy) McDonald and Ryan (Dawn) Prater; great grandchildren, Aidan, Trevor, and Grace McDonald, and Angela and Levi Prater; and sister, Thelma Weidrick.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Steele who passed away on February 25, 2019; grandson, Tyson Steele; and siblings, Shirley Bowen, Mary Bowen, Norma Brown, Bill Shick, Joe Wolfe, Harry Shick and Loren Shick.

Family and friends may visit at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Thursday, December 19, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Bettyโ€™s funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio.
