Greg Chaffins passed away on August 31, 2024 peacefully with his wife at his side at the age of 66 years old. His journey on earth may be over but he leaves so many good memories behind. Greg loved traveling to anywhere that had a beach and seeing new places. He was passionate about all sports and especially enjoyed watching Cleveland sports. As a young man he participated and excelled in basketball and softball. He was always ready to hit the road in his jeep looking forward to having a Starbucks to enjoy.

Greg proudly worked at Pepperidge Farm for 37 years working his way up to Product Manager and retired in 2015, looking forward to traveling and spending time with his family.

Greg is survived by his wife of 39 years, Debora, a daughter Christen Chaffins, his mother Hazel Elkins, stepfather John Elkins, brother Rick Chaffins, sisters-in-law Cindy Smith, Judy Smith and brothers-in-law Robert Smith (Ann) and their families.

He was preceded in death by his father Enon Chaffins and grandparents Bill & Dollie Branham and Poppy & Little Mommy Chaffins.

Greg's visitation will be Wednesday, September 4, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio and where the funeral service will be Thursday September 5, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Steve McKnight officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. Deb and family, so sorry to hear of Greg’s passing. When I read the obituary, I found it to be coincidental that Greg passed from this life while we were at the beach (Myrtle Beach)…one of Greg’s favorite pastimes. What a great basketball and baseball player and teammate he was. I will never forget the great times that we had together. Our condolences to the family.

Deb, Hazel and family My deepest sympathy for the loss of Greg. He was a good guy to work for. We had lots of laughs over the 37 years we worked together. Sure glad I got to talk to him a few months ago at Drug Mart. He was also a 1976 classmate of mine!
