Urban Charles Niedermier, age 86 of New Washington, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at Willard Mercy Hospital. He was born on October, 19, 1937 in New Washington, Ohio to the late Arthur and Bertha (Smith) Niedermier. Urban was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church, New Washington Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. After graduation he proudly served our country in the Marine Corps. He retired from the Mansfield Brass, Niedermier Sunoco and was a lifelong farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene (Schoen) Niedermier who he married on November 11, 1961; children, Karen Kent, Brenda Wilken, Jeff (Angie) Niedermier, Julie (Roger Yee) Niedermier; daughter-in-law, Danielle Niedermier; grandchildren, Ashley and Shelby Kent, Sam and Emily Wilken, Tessa, Anysa, Niya Mills, Chase, Isabelle, Harper, Shianne, Savanna Niedermier, Aaron, Nicholas, Rachel Yee; siblings, Richard Niedermier, Anna Friday, Francis (Phyllis) Niedermier, Louis (Jeri) Niedermier, Leonard (Penny) Niedermier, Stephen Niedermier, Mary (Charles) Heefner and Alice Ulicki; brother-in-law, Robert (Helen) Schoen; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Niedermier (2020); mother and father-in-law, Walter and Frances Schoen; sister, Helen (Joseph) Depinet; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jane Niedermier, Joyce Niedermier and Joseph Ulicki.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Secor Funeral home in New Washington, Ohio from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Urban’s funeral mass will be on Thursday, August 29, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in New Washington, Ohio with Fr. Eric Mueller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, in honor of his son, Christopher.
