Charles Richard "Dick" Atkins, age 83 of Willard, Ohio passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky, Ohio surrounded by his family. He was born August 10, 1940 in Harpster, Ohio to the late Charles and Wanda (Murphy) Atkins. He retired from R.R. Donnelley's and Sons in Willard. He loved baseball, camping and most of all, spending time with his family and his dog, "Bella".
He is survived by his wife, Sandy (Wilkinson) Atkins, whom he married November 26, 1960; 2 sons, Brent (Donna) Atkins of Savannah, GA and Randall (Angel) Atkins of Sandusky; 7 grandchildren, Brooke, Brianna, Brittany, Stephanie, Mallory, Sydney and Bradyn; step grandchildren, Kassondra and Paige; 8 great grandchildren, Hayden, Kolton, Victoria, Lawson, Rhett, Tate, Cooper and Cohen; 4 brothers, Ronald Atkins of LA, Mike Atkins of Willard, Danny (Cheryl) Atkins of Willard, and Kenny Atkins of Augusta, GA; 5 sisters, Nancy Temme of Shelby, Sharon Taylor of Willard, Judy Ann Kilgore of Willard, Terri Atkins of Willard and Kimberly Atkins of Willard; sisters-in-law, Pauline Steinmetz of Willard and Judy (Oliver) Mahl of Willard; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Sally Ann Durnwald and son, Todd Allen Atkins; parents Charles and Wanda Atkins and 3 brothers, Tom Atkins, Gene Atkins and Stephen Atkins.
Calling hours will be Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio where the memorial service will be Saturday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Michael Padula officiating.
