Berdine Caroline Emerson, age 89, of New Washington, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Avita Hospital in Bucyrus, Ohio. She was born on September 13, 1934, in New Washington, Ohio, to the late Charles and Alverda (Klink) Bordner. Berdine was a member of Nazareth Lutheran Church in Chatfield, Ohio. She enjoyed sewing, painting, arts and crafts, activities at the Council on Aging, playing BINGO, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Berdine is survived by her children, Sharon (Jim) Lappin of North Ridgeville, Ohio; Lisa (Doug) Snyder of Bucyrus, Ohio; Rob (Lisa) Emerson of Springboro, Ohio; and Lynne (Don) Geary of Tiffin, Ohio; grandchildren, Brandon, Josh, Lisa, Tyler, Kathryn, Courtney, Megan and Sarah; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Berdine is preceded in death by grandchildren, Steve and Staci, great granddaughter, Cora, and siblings, Audra Jacobs and Donald Bordner.
Visitation will be at the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Chatfield, Ohio, on Saturday, April 6, 2024, from Noon until the time of her service at 1:00 PM with Pastor Kevin Mohr officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in New Washington, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nazareth Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Berdine was the best. I remember getting a new hammer from her for my birthday from the hardware store. That was over 50 years ago. I still use it. You will be missed in my heart.
