Walter Tackett, son of William and Eva (Horn) Tackett, went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2007. Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Josephine (Collins) Tackett. His sons, Dallas Tackett of Collins, Walter Tackett Jr. of Shelby, David Tackett of Jacksonville, FL and William Tackett of Gainesville, FL. His daughters, Donna Robertson of Shelby, Madeline Dowds of Galion, and Darlene Carpenter of Shiloh, as well as, the grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be seeing his daughter, Irene Hall who is already with the Lord.
Walter was born in Painesville, Kentucky on November 5, 1928. His brothers, Kenneth and Lorenzo Tackett are still with us. Preceding in his death are his parents; his brothers, Edward and Thomas Tackett and sister, Elva Hackworth.
Walter worked 43 years at Fate Root Heath and upon retiring continued to work as a security guard at Newman Technology.
He passed in his sleep with his wife Josie by his side. The family request in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Stein Hospice, Shiloh United Baptist Church or Willard Healthc Care Activity Fund.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth on Sunday, August 26, 2007 from 2:00 – 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev.
