Victor J. Predmore, 63, of Willard, left this world suddenly on November 13, 2023 from Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born to the late James N and Sandra L (Felver) Predmore on August 14, 1960.
Victor lived a very full life and was loved by many people. He was kind but ornery and didn’t know a stranger. He enjoyed playing cards and other games with his family. He loved to cheer for the Buckeyes and cry with the Browns. He was a lover of music and played the drums his whole life. He loved to tell stories of all the concerts he got to go to when he was younger. He was very active at the First United Methodist Church. Vic was a grateful member of AA for many years where he took great pride in sharing his story to help others find their way.
Vic is survived by his significant other, Sue Caudill, and their fur babies, Lilo, Sammy, and Blackie; 3 children, Torey (Kristen) Predmore, Briana Predmore, and Allie (Nick) Milgrim; numerous grand-fur babies; his brother, Kelly Predmore; and nephews, Jim Predmore, Andrew and Aaron Ball; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Nicky Ball.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Willard, Ohio where the funeral service will be Saturday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Michael Padula officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to House of Hope in care of Secor Funeral Home, 202 West Maple Street, Willard, Ohio 44890. Vic and I were friends throughout our lives, since we were kids. Through the years and different stages of our lives, we would meet. It might be some time since we had spoken together. But, our conversation never seemed to change. He was always the same Vic – ever since Little League. Even as we aged and matured, at his core, he always stayed the same. Vic loved his family. He loved to talk about his mother and his brother and sister. He loved his three daughters. I remember once when his girls were little, he came to our house to talk to my daughter about babysitting them. Once he was getting ready to leave, all three of his girls were inside the car and had him locked out. They were having the greatest time watching him getting frustrated and run around the car trying to get in. Eventually, though, he found the humor and laughed along with them. Not so long ago, I called Vic and told him I had just bought a Fender Stratocaster guitar. I have always wanted one. I said, “I know it’s probably foolish. I’m old and I can’t play like I used to.” And what he said stuck with me. He said, “We might be old. But we can still dream.” Several weeks ago, Vic and I were talking on the phone. We wanted to get together before his surgery, but we weren’t able to. But we had a long talk on the phone about the surgery. We talked about how we, as humans, pray to God to deliver us. We always ask for help and healing. But, sometimes when we get to our age, we have to be prepared to accept a “no” answer. Being able to reach that place is one of the greatest challenges in our lives. But, as we talked, Vic was able to tell me he was ready to accept God’s “no” answer. He said whatever happened in his future was in God’s hands. Today, Vic is in God’s hands. I’ve always liked Wayne Watson’s song, “Home Free.” It says, “At the ultimate healing, we will be home free.” Vic was willing to accept a “no” answer, and today he is home free.

I remember Vic hanging around our house when we were kids. He became a very good drummer and helped me record an album when he was only sixteen in the '70s. He continued his love for drumming throughout his life and we recently formed a band at the Methodist church. We lost touch for decades because my wife Becky and I were in England during that time. But in 2018 we met up again and he joined my Bible study. He was having health issues and was looking to reconnect with God. He was leading a number of AA groups and was really having an impact in those groups; I'm sure that they will certainly miss his input and friendship. Vic had rediscovered his faith and he read just about everything written by C.S. Lewis. I really valued our discussions. Vic had great insights (and a great sense of humor) which will surely be missed.
