Dorothy, Craig and family...so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. Over the years I have come to learn what a unique and exceptional person Joe was. I grew up thinking all neighbors were likely like Joe; kind, friendly, even keeled, giving, considerate. Experience has taught me otherwise, Joe was certainly an exception. In the pantheon of great neighbors, none will ever live up to Joe. He will truly be missed. Cherise and I send our condolences.

Joe Runkle was one of the finest people I have ever had the privilege to know. As next-door neighbor to my in-laws, Joe was the BEST neighbor anyone could ever have hoped to have. He helped everyone, from the next-door neighbors to all the folks in Plymouth with the many ways he served the village, the church and the Legion. Such a wonderful fellow, always with a smile and "hey, how are you!" whenever he saw me, my husband — and many, many other people, whether he knew them well ... or not at all. Joe was sweet, kind, funny, thoughtful and truly a great husband and father. His was a life well-lived and he will be very much missed by many. Our sympathies to Dorothy, Craig and Carla, and all the rest of the family. — Kathy and Tom Root
