I worked with Ray at the Post Office in Willard from 1985 to 1993. Ray was a character. I am twenty-years younger and Ray would tease me a lot, but deep down I knew he liked me and he would say things like, "You're okay, kid." I used to sell articles to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and whenever that paper rolled into the Post Office, Ray would brag about me. I truly loved Ray. He was genuine. Sure he was rough on the outside, but inside he was a true gentleman and a true friend. And funny as hell. Oh, boy. Ray was funny. I miss him (I had a dream about him last night) but I will see him again and so will all of us. Grace and peace to all who read these lines. There is a morning.
