Larry "Jake" Jacobs, age 77, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Fisher Titus Medical Center in Norwalk, Ohio. He was born on September 30, 1945 in Willard, Ohio to the late Lewis and Veva (Walker) Jacobs. He graduated from Willard High School and Tiffin University. Jake had retired from RR Donnelley after 38 years of service, was a substitute teacher for 12 years and formerly worked at Autozone for 4 years. He also formerly served on the Willard City Council for 28 years. Jake had other duties in life such as working for the mob, working for the circus and being a dog trainer.
He is survived by his daughter, Sara Jacobs of Willard and son, John (Heather Duncan) Jacobs of Willard; two grandchildren, Paige Elmlinger of Austin, TX and Brenna Elmlinger of Willard; brother, Tom Jacobs of San Antonio, TX; two sisters, Linda Jacobs and Billie Jean Traxler of Willard and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jake is preceded in death by his wife, Gail (Bogner) Jacobs; six brothers, Ted, Fred, Bob, Dan, Jim and Phil Jacobs and sister, Donna Newland.
Friends may call at Secor Funeral Home in Willard, Ohio on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 2:00 PM until the time of his service at 6:00 PM with Pastor Jeremy Buchanan officiating. Burial will take place at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions may be made to Willard Area Food Bank or a charity of the donor's choice.
