Margaret C. Farrell, age 100, of New Washington, Ohio, passed away peacefully Friday, October 21, 2022 at Wedgewood Estates in Mansfield, Ohio. She was born May 27, 1922 in Bucyrus, Ohio to the late Robert and Myrtle (Light) Keller. She graduated from Bucyrus High School in 1940 and at the top of her class from Columbus Office Training School in 1941. She met her husband, John C. Farrell while working at the Crawford County Probate Court and they married on October 20, 1946. Margaret and her husband John owned and operated Farrell's IGA in New Washington from 1950 to 1980. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church and the Dutchtown Dillies (Red Hat Society). She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, going on casino trips and most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Susan (Farrell) McCabe of Springboro, OH and Bonnie (Daniel J.) Obrynba of Mansfield, Ohio; and a son, John R. (Melinda) Farrell of Bucyrus, OH. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and a brother, Donald (Kathy) Keller of Albuquerque, NM.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Myrtle Keller; her husband, John C. Farrell (1/21/1985); son, Richard J. "Dick" Farrell; and sister, Dorothy (Robert) Long.
Calling hours will be Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Secor Funeral Home in New Washington, OH. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Kevin Mohr officiating. Burial will follow at the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in New Washington, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom. I just heard about it Sunday the 30 th. I'm sorry I didn't come to her services. She was a good friend and neighbor especially to my Mom. We always enjoyed our visits when she would pop over. My kids always got a kick out of her and my Mom. We thought the world of your Mom. So many happy memories. Of our Dads too.
