Sally Ann Durnwald, age 61, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at St. Vincent's Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. She was born on May 5, 1961 in Willard, Ohio to Charles Richard and Sandra (Wilkinson) Atkins.
Sally was the General Manager of Camp Lake Erie. She enjoyed traveling, boating and spending time at the beach. Her family was most important to her and she loved spending time with them.
Sally will be remembered by her loving husband, Roger E. Durnwald, who she married on September 22, 1990; three daughters, Brooke (Curtis) Roddy of Murrieta, California, Brittany (Dustin) Schaaf of Savannah, Georgia and Brianna (Chase) Finney of New Washington, Ohio; five grandchildren, Hayden, Kolton, Victoria, Lawson, Rhett and one grandson on the way, Tate; two brothers, Brent (Donna) Atkins and Randall (Angel) Atkins; parents, Richard and Sandra Atkins; and numerous nieces.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Todd Allen Atkins
Family and friends may visit on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made to Leukemia Research. We got to know Sally when we became new campers at Kamp Kozy. We shared some great stories, and I think she got a kick out of Kurt and I being "virgin campers" and all the goofy stuff we did. She spoke so highly of her husband, children and family. The first time we went to put our deposit down I think we were there over an hour just chatting. We are so sorry for your loss. Sally's family....I cannot begin to express the void Sally's passing will leave on so many people. Sally was an amazingly strong and vibrant woman. Through her work at Camp Lake Erie she has provided so many families an opportunity to create amazing memories with their family and friends. I met Sally 10 years ago at the arvc convention in Las Vegas. We hit it off and she’s purchased products from me since. She was a friend way more than a customer and I looked forward to seeing her every spring in Columbus at the Ohio expo. She always was positive and full of life. I had the chance to meet her daughter, too, while she was in dental school. Sally was so proud of her family and raved about all of them. You will be missed, my friend❤️🙏🏻
