Alice M. Buckingham, age 88, of Willard, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at the Willows of Willard. She was born on January 1, 1934 in Willard, Ohio, to the late George and Eva (Winn) Lydy. Alice was a preschool teacher and assisted her husband with operating the family trucking business. She was a member of the Christian Alliance Church in Willard, the Gideons and Fisher Titus Knitting Club. She had been a Bible School teacher at Richmond United Methodist Church, served in jail ministry for Huron County, and was an Awaina Teacher at Christian Alliance Church.
Left to cherish Alice’s memories are her children, John (Tina) Buckingham of Mansfield, OH and Joni (Mark) Robinson of New Washington, OH; grandchildren, Kirk (Jessica), Nathan, Kaitlyn (Jacob), Kirsten; great grandchildren, Cayden, Kylie and one on the way who she already loved; sister-in-law, Karen Fichtelman; brother-in-law, Clair Buckingham and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Buckingham and brothers, Jay Lydy, Wynn Lydy and Bart Lydy.
Friends may call on Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Christian Alliance Church, 1609 Conwell Ave (St. Rt. 224), Willard, Ohio where her funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 28, 2022 with Pastor Bart McKelvey officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Special Olympics. We are so sorry to hear of Alices passing. She loved the Lord and it showed in her life. She was active for many years in the Gideon Ministry. Alice helped with the jail services, held offices in the Huron County Gideons Auxiliary, and distributing & placing Scriptures.
