John Reppart, 82, of Willard, OH went to be with his Jesus on February 20, 2022, while a patient at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, OH following a 5-month fight from a trauma injury illness. John was born on April 4, 1939 to the late Roy A. and Julia (Stephens) Reppart in Harrison Co., Cadiz, OH.
John was a graduate of the Cadiz High School in the class of 1957. He was a member of the Marching Band, playing trumpet for the Cardinals. In June of 1958, John met the “love of his life”, Patty Sue Edwards. They were married on June 18, 1961 in Cadiz.
January 1962, John was drafted into the U.S. Army and stationed at Ft. Leonardwood, MO, for the first 8 months before being shipped to Frankfurt, Germany, for the remaining time of his two-year hitch. John played his trumpet in the Third Armored Division Band. He was chosen and honored to play Taps at one of the memorial sites held in Germany for the late President John F. Kennedy.
In 1964, John was hired at the General Motors plant in Mansfield, OH. He retired after 42 ½ years at this plant.
John was a student of the Bible and loved to study the Apostle Paul’s books – Romans through Philemon – and shared the Gospel with everyone and anyone he could.
John had a love for music, most any kind, and was very proud of his grandson’s performances in their school musicals and Company R performances.
Basketball was at the top of his list in sports. Games in grade school, high school, and college were not to be missed when his youngest son was in the game. He also attended all games he could for his five grandchildren – front seat at midcourt!
John is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patty Sue; a daughter, Tonya (Bill) Flanegan of Ontario, Oh; a son, John Reppart (Heidi Them) of Ridgeway, OH; former daughter-in-law, Tricia Reppart of Kenton, OH, ; five grandchildren, Brianna and Danny Flanegan, Jackson, Grant, and Harrison Reppart; former daughter-in-law, Kelly (Rick) Matthews of Lexington, OH; step – grandchildren, Rachel (Kyle) Grayson of Ontario, OH; Carter Hill of Crestline, OH; three step-great grandchildren, Jily, Zoey, and Graham Grayson. John is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.
John was preceded in death by his oldest son, Roy Paul Reppart, On October 17, 2012; his sister, Virginia Collins; and a brother, George R. (Beulah) Reppart; mother and father-in-law, Rev. Phil and Lois Edwards.
Friends and family are invited to John’s calling hours on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the Secor Funeral Home, 202 W. Maple St., Willard, OH 44890. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Secor Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor David Reid of the Columbus Bible Church. A graveside service with military rites will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard.

Patty, Tonya, Bill, John & Heidi, I will always remember his great BIG grin and huge personality. The scripture that comes to mind - when I think of him is 2 Tim 1:7 "For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of wisdom." We have so blessed to have had him in our lives!
