Pamela Jo “PJ” (Garrett) Dropsey, 59, of Plymouth, Ohio passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio after a year long illness. She was born on August 9, 1962 in Norfolk, Virginia to Shirleen (Allen) Garrett and the late Bernard “Bud” Garrett.
A Plymouth High School graduate, Pam went to work for Shelby Insurance Company for 16 years. She then went to work for and retired from the Department of Veteran Affairs as an Administrative Assistant after 20 years. During her time at the VA, Pam also received her Associates Degree in Business from North Central State Community College.
In her spare time, Pam enjoyed being in the outdoors, especially gardening and traveling. She was a loyal sports fan of the Ohio State University and Cleveland Browns and Indians. Pam was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Pam is survived by her husband of 12 years, Rick Dropsey; son, Nick (Brooke) Wirick; two step daughters, Ashley (Joe) Christman and Chelsea (Dalton) Farina; two grandchildren, Parker and Easton Wirick; three step grandchildren, Kennedy and Reagan Christman and Gabriella Farina; mother, Shirleen Garrett; and numerous other family members.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Adam Wirick.
Pam’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the wonderful care received from the nursing staff at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital and Riverside Hospice.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of her funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Blanche Tyree officiating. Burial will follow at Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the Upstairs Store in Plymouth, Ohio.
