Virginia R. Barrison, age 87, of Willard, Ohio passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Pristine Senior Living in Willard. She was born on March 24, 1929 in Turin, GA to the late Edgar and Velma (Carmichael) Martin. Virginia was a Willard High School graduate, was a member of the First Baptist Church in Willard and was an activity coordinator at Hillside Acres Nursing Home. She loved to play bingo and ceramic work. She also loved to read, watch soap operas and watch sports.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Gloria Jean Bernoudy of Southfield, MI and Ramona Lee Hampton of Fostoria, OH; a son, Fred Barrison of Newnan, GA; 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Barrison and a son, Charles Barrison.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Willard, OH on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM where her funeral service will be on Tuesday at 12:00 Noon with Pastor Jeffrey Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Willard. Her dec. husband and my dec. husband were very close friends untill his death. I’m sure she will be missed by those who knew and loved her..

Virginia was my cousin but she meant more to me like a mother. I’m going to miss our long talks over the phone and your home spun wisdom and advice. To Mona, Gloria and Freddie may God give you all the peace that passes all understanding during this time of your loss and I love you all.

To Virginia’x family, Our deepest sympathy to you all, your mother was a very sweet lady. Dan’s mom always enjoyed stopping to visit her when she was in the nursing home. Javonn couldn’t have had a nicer great-grandmother than Virginia he loved his grandmother. She will be greatly missed!
Virgina was one of the sweetest ladies. Use to take popcorn to her after the games at the school. Brenda would send her boxes of books to read. She was one of a kind with a heart of gold. She will be missed.
