John A. Wallace, age 86, of Willard, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, May 20, 2021. He was born on June 17, 1934 in Willard, Ohio, to the late John A. and Katheryn (Edleman) Wallace. John worked at B&O Railroad at the Round House before working at R.R. Donnelley and Sons where he retired after 38 years of dedicated service. He was a Mason at the Golden Rule Lodge #562, former Scoutmaster, enjoyed model railroading, was an avid Civil War buff being a member of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War out of Mansfield and was a volunteer at the Willard Train Festival. Most of all, he enjoyed his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his four sons, John (Ramona) Wallace of Olathe, Kansas; Kevin (Melissa) Wallace of Greenwich, Ohio; Scott (Renee) Wallace of Shelby, Ohio and Eric (Pam) Wallace of Oak Harbor, OH; grandchildren, Andy (Amanda), J.T., Kevin (Emily), Christopher (Emma), Erika, Olivia, Grant, Brittany (Nathan), Emily (Marcel), Ashley (Aaron), Tim (Ariel) and Mackenzie (C.J.); 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Janice M. (Danhoff) Wallace whom he married on September 25, 1954 and a brother, Robert Wallace.
Calling hours will be at Secor Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 3:00 until the time of his service at 5:00 PM with Pastor John Grimm officiating with Masonic services. Burial will take place at a later time at Greenwood Cemetery in Willard, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice in Fremont, Ohio.
