The 2nd day of November in the year of our Lord 2015 at 5:05 AM in the name of God, Savior, Redeemer, and Eternal King Jesus, Geneva Jewel (Lykins) Adams of Willard, Ohio departed this earth. Knowing the mortality of her body as it is appointed for all men once to die, she commended her spirit into the hand of God that gave it and her body to the earth to be buried in a christian manner with no doubt at the Rapture of the Church to receive again the same by the power of almighty God who blessed her with eternal salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of Father God.
Geneva Jewel Lykins was born on April 25, 1928 in Willard, OH. She married Howard Glen Adams of Deshler, Ohio, and she raised two children, Brenda Gay and Wesley Brian in Rossford, OH. Known to family and friends alike as Jewel, she certainly was accepted as a treasure more valuable than her name. Jewel was invited to church by a neighbor named Gracie. Long time Pastor Dale Emerick through his faithful preaching of God’s Holy Word led her to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Jewel utilized her beautiful voice to proclaim Jesus as savior as a soloist, in quartets, choir, and on WPOS radio. Jewel served as adult Sunday school teacher for many years.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Howard, her daughter, Brenda, father
Wessley Cox Lykins,, and her mother, Cornelia (Salyers) Lykins. She also was preceded by brothers and sisters: Goldie Bell, Lona, Pearl, Pauline (Polly), Isaac Walter, Wilson, Chalmer, Beulah, Mary Magdalene, Martha Josephine, James Kiser, Clyde, and Georgia Marie. (12 siblings were delivered by Dr. Malinda Lykins wife of Isaac Lykins, Wess Cox Lykins father) of Salyersville, Kentucky. The last two, Georgia and Jewel, were born in Willard, Ohio Surviving and awaiting the eminent return of Jesus are son, Wesley Bryan Adams, wife, Susan Burgess Adams, grandson, Joshua Thomas Adams, wife, Sara, great grandsons, Miles and Ellis. She is also survived by grandson, Michael Hamilton Strickland, granddaughter, Amanda Adecia Comfort. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Madison Mae and Jacob Scott. She is also survived by (Brenda’s son) Joel Ryan Arnold and great grandchildren, Gabriela and Joel Jr.
We will lay to rest her body at the Ohio Maple Grove Cemetery in New Haven, Ohio with the knowledge that she will be resurrected and be given a brand new body, when, very soon, Jesus will call his church home. She will go ahead of us who remain as the graves will open, and the dead in Christ will be RESURRECTED AS JESUS HIMSELF WAS. Then, we, who are yet alive, will together meet them in the air to be forevermore with Jesus. Jewel didn’t go to Heaven alone. She took with her the only thing you can take with you when you die, others. She will learn of others, whom her testimony spoke to, causing them to hear the prompting and calling of God through Jesus Christ’s finished work and the Holy Spirit. Be sure today that you will personally see her again. Ask Jesus to forgive you as you repent of your sin. Ask Jesus to save you. Read his Word, John 1:12, 24-29. Don’t be left behind. In lieu of flowers, we request your gifts be given to your local church or ministry of your choice in Jewel’s memory.
Visitation will be Saturday, Nov 7th from Noon-2:00pm at Secor Funeral Home located at 202 Maple Street, Willard, OH. The grave side service will immediately follow. Online condolences can be made at www.secorfuneralhomes.com

Wess and family, You are in my prayers. She was my dear and precious Sister in the Lord and I will miss her but someday very soon there will be a reunion. I shall see her again. I am so thankful that the Lord allowed our paths to cross about 15 years ago in Willard. She was a dear friend and I will cherish the memories! Hugs to you all!

Jewell was a special lady that we enjoyed getting to know when she visited the Nazarene Church. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of your loss. In His Love,
