Mary H. Steele, age 84, resident of Plymouth, Ohio went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, Ohio. She was born on October 7, 1930 in Shelby, Ohio to the late Albert and Lillian (Remy) Hartz and had been a Plymouth resident the majority of her life. She was a graduate of Shelby High School and had worked at the former Shelby Depot. Mrs. Steele was a member of the Willard Christian Alliance Church and enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted homemaker for many years and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Clifford P. Steele whom she married on May 8, 1955; two daughters, Sharon (Robert) Balla of Olathe, KS; and Linda (Kenneth) Brown of Willard; three grandchildren, Zak (Jennifer) Balla; Lauren and Hannah Brown; and two great granddaughters, Kayla and Abby Balla; a brother, Albert Hartz, Jr of Shelby; and two sisters, Bonnie Williston of Shelby; and Patricia Montgomery of Plymouth.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at the Secor Funeral Home in Plymouth, Ohio on Monday, January 12, 2015 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. The funeral service will held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Willard Christian Alliance Church with Reverend Jim Trainer officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date.
